Welcome to Kelly Rothert, LISW, LLC!

I believe in the unique power of individuals and use of their strengths to overcome obstacles in life.

I am very client-centered, basing my work on the individual needs and preferences of my clients. I work with adults and primarily use Solution-focused therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I've worked with individuals coping with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, dissociation, and many other personal issues.

I specialize in the area of trauma and dissociation, for which I have received additional training through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). I have also completed training in EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). You can find links to information about these modalities by clicking the Helpful Links tab at the top of this page.

I have experience working in community mental health as well as Pro Bono Counseling with Mental Health America of Franklin County. Prior to my interest in social work, I was a teacher for over 15 years working with children and adolescents in a regular and special education classroom setting. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education, a M.Ed. in Special Education: Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, and an MSW in Clinical Social Work.
